Little Girl, Big Chair

Jane loves to sit at the table for meals and thinks she should be eating everything that everyone else is eating. So, when she is sitting on mommy or daddy's knee at a meal she lunges for plates, bowls, silverware, cups. She's a lot faster than you would think a little baby would be, and bowls of cereal are upset and plates end up on the floor! She doesn't like playing on the ground next to the table with her toys during mealtime....she likes to be part of the action, so we brought out the highchair and so far it has worked well. She's high enough up that she feels apart of everything, but removed enough that we don't have to guard everything within her little arms length! She seems to like to have her own plastic bowl, cup, and spoon to play with in her highchair and before too much longer will be eating up there with the rest of us! (Jane's bow comes courtesy of her stylist: Claire...can you tell?)

Mountain Climbing with Claire and Ethan

Dan took Ethan and Claire on a special mountain climbing date on Friday afternoon. They both had a wonderful time...unfortunately Claire's walking stick poked her right in the eye! They called mommy from daddy's cell phone when they had reached the top to tell mommy how dangerous the climb had been, how brave they were, how high the mountain was, and how fun it was to throw stones off the top! It was fun to hear how excited they were about their great accomplishment.

Easter Jane

Here's Jane in her Easter dress. Purple is a lovely colour for her.

The Girls!

Claire likes to put her hairbands on Jane and put Jane's hat on when we go outside. Jane really is partial to Claire's little face and gives a wide gummy smile whenever she sees Claire. Claire likes to keep Jane company while I make meals and is happy to be a special helper. She gives Jane lots of hugs every day now and seems to be getting used to--and even liking--having a baby sister!

Little Bunny

Well, our little bunny baby is doing very well. About a week and a half ago Jane decided she knew how to roll from her back to her tummy and does it all the time now. She learned this week to roll from her tummy on to her back. We all had great hopes of sleep after she slept about 7-8 hours 5 nights in a row...but we're back to sleeping about 4-5 hours, which is much better than 2 or 3 hours! She loves to touch everything all the time and has recently taken to touching Ethan and Claire's faces, which they both enjoy until her little sharp fingernails get them! She continues to be happy and curious and ready to go, go, go!

Jane is 4 Months Old!

Our little Jane turned 4 months on Thursday and went for her doctor's appointment on Friday. She now weighs 13 lbs 2 oz (40th percentile) and is 24-1/2 inches long(60th percentile). She is as wiggly and happy as ever. But our happy little girl got four needles in her legs (always a terrible experience for baby and mommy)at her check-up and...well...this is what happened when she came home:

Jane was a pretty tired little lady and has had long naps today as well. But she's been as happy and playful as usual. It's been a fast 4 months and Ethan and Claire often ask if Jane is big enough to talk yet, or play yet...before we know it she will be!

Exercising with Jane

Jane likes to spend time on her tummy as long as she is completely entertained, so that she forgets that she is actually on her tummy! When she's had enough, she certainly lets you know it! She's rubbed off a bit of her hair at the back, but also at the sides, as it seems she spends a lot of time rolling from side to side!
