A Couple of Firsts...

Well, we finally had our yard sale a week ago on Saturday--we had been waiting 3 weeks for a sunny Saturday. I must say, though, the rain is actually quite nice and keeps the temp very comfortable. The yard sale was a success and now that all those boxes are moved out of the house, we have started packing up everything else. We are planning to leave for CT in 3 weeks! I'm pretty excited. Earlier this week I went to the dentist to get my very first fillings-2 of them. Going to the dentist is not my favourite thing in the world, and I left w/ a big headache, but will be going back for yet another 2! Claire learned to pump on a swing all by herself this week. We've been practicing pumping for a few weeks now, but on Friday afternoon, she started all by herself and kept herself going for a long time! Ethan has grown out of another pair of pants! He is really enjoying going to the park across the street and playing basketball w/ Danny. One of Jane's new favourite things is jumping on the bed. Well, I think that's all for now. Here are a few photos.

That's Batman Baby in the background.

One afternoon Ethan was out with Dan and I was playing with Claire. Jane all of a sudden got very, very quiet. We found her here in the hall, fast asleep!

This morning I was painting Claire's finger and toe nails before church. Jane came out from her bath and kept pointing at her fingernails. She sat so still while I painted her fingers and toes a bright red. She points at them all day!

The Dynamic Duo

This is a photo of Worthington Hooker Elementary School where Ethan and Claire will be attending Kindgarten.

This is where we will be living in CT. Our apt. is on the top floor. It's about 3 blocks from E & C's school.

This is what we call the "orange park". It's a block from where we are living currently and is where Claire made her pumping/swinging debut!

Saturday Surprise!

On Saturday morning a couple of weeks ago I was lying in bed, mostly asleep, but awake enough to hear the pitter-patter of little feet every so often, mingled w/ a few muted giggles, when all of a sudden a little boy with an orange face burst into the room, squealing w/ laughter, accompanied by the red girl! They shot out the room as fast as they had entered. I was definitely awake. I followed them into Ethan's room for an inspection of what they had been up to. As you can see, they had had a....creative few minutes alone together! It would have been a little more funny if they had not put marker on the soles of their feet and been leaving faint navy blue footprints around the house! They had put blue polka dots all over each other's backs w/ a marker that wasn't as washable as some. Needless to say, they both had blue polka dots for almost a week.

Starting to Say Goodbye to Good Ole SLC

As we begin to get ready to move to CT we have starting taking our camera EVERYWHERE so we can make up the children their SLC Photo Books. Here are a few photos. The first few are taken at Red Butte Gardens, and the remainder are here in downtown SLC.

This view is about a block from where we live now. That's the Cathedral of the Madeline in the background.

Temple Square

We call this little park the water wheel park (obivously b/c of the water wheel), but I think it's called Brigham Park, or something similiar. All three kiddies love it here. It's great for climbing on rocks, catching loads of box elder bugs, and Jane loves to throw rocks in the pond.

Here's Jane digging up the fungus and dirt. She likes to lie right out on her tummy to get the best angle to dig her little fingers into all sorts of little cracks and holes.

This photo is taken right outside the building where we meet for Church. This tree has been a good "learn-how-to climb-trees" tree-and very beautiful for the week or so it blooms. This year it bloomed and then it snowed and snowed. All the blossoms turned brown, as you can see.

Halloween is Here?!?!?!

It seems we're getting ready for Halloween a little early this year! We went to a yard sale on Saturday and picked up this unicorn costume for $5 for Claire! What a great find! So now everyone has to dress up all the time here. Jane loves to be Spidey! She gets the mask herself and puts it on!

Jane and Her Chocolate Pudding!

Do you think she's enjoying herself?!

We had a very Happy Easter and hope you all did too. The Easter Bunny called our house to tell Ethan and Claire about their Easter egg hunt, which they both enjoyed. Jane received her little baby doll for Easter and she goes everywhere Jane goes and doesn't let anyone touch her baby...ever. Jane particularly enjoyed "scrambles". She would scream w/ delight whenever we threw the candy in the air!

Jane and her Hat!

Jane likes to wear hats whenever she can get her hands on one. We often see her stumbling around the house w/ a hat pulled over her eyes. She laughs the entire time!
